Critical Race Theory Would Have Destroyed My Family
American Thinker ^ | 24 Dec, 2021 | J. Motos Gordon

I've heard it said that all CRT wants to do is to look at American history through the lens of race. But no, it's much worse than that.

My grandmother's friend was decapitated in front of her because she made the mistake of not bowing before the Japanese officer as he walked by.

I sit on the bed, listening, as she tells me the story. My grandmother's sullen eyes stare out the sliding glass door of our Los Angeles home. Her vegetable garden is directly outside, but she's looking at something farther away.

It was hot that day, she recalls. They just wanted to go to someone else's house on the other side of their small rice-farming town. They were both nervous. The invaders ruled with absolute brutality, and they expected you to do everything they commanded. Everything.

The town hated bowing down to their oppressors, their masters. They resisted in any and every way they could, she says. She turns her head and looks at me as I sit on the bed. A sense of defiance flits from the corner of her mouth and follows a weathered wrinkle to her eyes. She says she liked to walk with women with babies because if you were holding a child, you didn't have to bow to the Japanese. So, whenever the Japanese would approach, she would ask to hold a woman's baby. She pauses after telling me that, then stares back out the glass door, satisfied.

My maternal grandmother's name was Clara Mella Motos, and she was married to my grandfather, Geminiano Arenas Motos. She was born in the town of Polangui in the Bicol region of the Philippines. She taught me strength and courage and forgiveness, but she never taught me to hate.

Critical Race Theory is just a new tactic of using “The Critical Theory of Communism” using race.

“I guess we were never taught to hate each other. I’m thankful for that.”

That is exactly what CRT is all about - teaching people to hate. To feel resentment towards things that they never experienced.

Since Black Lives Matter violent protests erupted last year, systemic racism has been transformed from a fringe theory to a canonical truth.

Deemed incontestable, systemic racism provides the political rationale for “dismantling”—in the words of no less an authority than the NIH—the institutions and cultural standards that, according to the framework’s advocates, are maintained to uphold white supremacy.

This year, the National Institutes of Health issued an apology to all who have suffered from structural racism in biomedical research. The NIH is dedicating $90 million tax dollars to the study of health disparities and structural racism, engaging in more than 60 diversity and inclusion initiatives, and committing “every tool at our disposal to remediate the chronic problem of structural racism.”

Yet they never tell us what they’re going to replace it with. And no one ever asks them.

Funny, that.

The Achilles heel of this cultural revolution:

Critical race theory… is entirely a creature of the state. It was born, and nurtured, and raised within publicly financed and publicly subsidized universities and it now survives only in this vast constellation of publicly supported and publicly subsidized bureaucracy;

It also gives us a tremendous opportunity because what the public giveth the public can take away........

We should fight indirectly, in a more sophisticated way, to start slowly chipping away at these bureaucracies and institutional powers.....by curtailing education’s stranglehold on our tax dollars.

my grandfather, who reminded me of a real-life Santa Claus

The four stages of Santa Claus:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.

2) You don't believe in Santa Clause.

3) You are Santa Clause.

4) You look like Santa Clause!

Merry Christmas to all.
