A&W’s 1/3-Pound Burger
Avert your eyes, math teachers, because this is going to be painful. In the 1980s, A&W released a 1/3-pounder to compete with McDonald’s Quarter Pounder, complete with a “third is the word” marketing campaign. But the burgers didn’t sell, and a market research firm discovered that it was because people thought 1/4 pound was larger than 1/3. Cringe. But all is not lost: Today, A&W is using the blunder to rebrand the 1/3-pound burger as the 3/9 Pound Burger, giving Americans exactly what they want: bigger numbers.

McDonald's Mighty Wings Mighty Wings debuted in 2013 as a limited-time item, but so few McDonald's customers bought the crispy chicken wings that the chain was left with a 10 million-pound surplus at the end of the year. The $1-a-wing price point was too high for many, while others thought the wings were too spicy. Still, the wings returned in Atlanta, where they were a strong performer, in 2016. there's yer answer fishbulb, I can still get wings here for 35c despite Joes pandemic

H.L. Mencken, the Sage of Baltimore once wrote,
“No one in this world, so far as I know .... has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”
Sagacity left Baltimore long ago

I believe that A@W was the inventor of the bacon cheese burger. Sadly their hamburger is not high quality.
