Sorry - I’m not buying this propaganda push to further enslave the nation.
Yes, its obvious that everyone’s getting the couf - but in my state there’s been exactly ONE occurrence of the omni variant - 99% is still Delta.
And that said...there are many false positives.
If they are asymptomatic....they get sent home....with regular flu like instructions.
We are basically 30 days into this variant, with up to now, sparce cases. We know nothing about it except younger median age/high natural resilence populations were still hospitalized but not so many deaths. Now it’s in an older population/low natural resilence population.
Most folks are just waiting for data to come out - what internal damage is done, and, most important, does a mild infection confer mild resistance to the next variant or strong resistance? Is Omi a good or bad thing? No way to tell until NYC tells its story again, and no way to tell about future resistance until the next variant comes along — so no need to overreact in either direction. Airborne is airborne so do what you usually do with airborne as far as personal precautions.
But seriously how do they even test for it? I don’t think they actually can do.
There were a handful of cases in South Africa very mild, nothing to worry over. Then in about two weeks OH MAH GAWD we have omicron taking over the world! Oh gosh shut down the world, get more jabs and then more jabs, slap on masks 24/7 if you can, shun your family and friends because OMG OMICRON!
Based on the South African data, I tend to believe it. The “Hand of Providence” is spreading the natural actual vax kind of like cowpox protected milk maids from smallpox and started the field of immunology. A Christmas present for humanity, so to speak. 22 proteins not mutated out of 24 inducing natural immunity to all variants in those that do not have it. Only the spike has major mutations (30 some odd mutations). You know, the clot inducing spike which is a bioweapon has mutated down in virulence.
In South Africa the spread curve was near vertical. Even look in the direction of someone with it and you got it, and most asymptotically. Cold symptoms in those who were symptomatic. A minuscule number were hospitalized, and those who were, were in 2 or 3 days, not the 8+ days of previous variants. It swept through Gauteng like a tidal wave but was ankle high and is now receding. Sweeping similarly through the rest of SA as we speak. Feet get wet but nobody is drowning.
I pray that I am right and this is the end of COVID as a severe disease, and the start of it taking its place beside the common cold.
