Over the last century, we have seen an exponential increase in the understanding of the physical universe. International observatories on Earth and in space have produced magnificent images spanning the full range from the small scale of black holes to the large-scale structure of the entire observable universe. Now, we are in the midst of a discovery of even greater magnitude, but few are even acknowledging it. And incredibly, it is what many regard as the modern icon of quack science – unidentified objects, traditionally labeled UFOs, that may represent technological equipment manufactured by an advanced extraterrestrial civilization.
Almost overnight UFOs have gained acceptance by the government and some in academia as worthy of scientific study. With this shift came a new label from the U.S. military: unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP). Now, they are increasing the target of dedicated research, including Harvard University’s Galileo Project in search for extraterrestrial equipment near earth as well as Stanford University's independent research program on unusual materials. They are also the reason behind the establishment of a new office in the Pentagon charged with establishing a science plan to:
1) Account for characteristics and performance of UAP that exceed known science or technology, including propulsion, aerodynamics, materials, sensors, countermeasures, weapons, electronics and power generation
2) Provide the foundation for possible investments to replicate these advanced characteristics and performance
In fact, this language is the direct result of members of Congress including it in the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act.
All this has stemmed from three videos of UAPs captured by Navy pilots and officially released by the Pentagon in 2020.

I think it speaks for itself. Do we have tech today that is leap beyond, something we have adapted from ‘them’? I don’t believe we do. Since WWII we have advanced our tech, but at no point have we had a tech/material/discovery that is a large step ahead. Since the discovery of the transistor, we have advanced incrementally.
My point is that IF we had gained ‘alien tech’ in the last 50 years, we would see it. And we don’t. So, either these things are so much beyond us that we’re unable to interact or communicate, or we’re really unlucky at being able to catch one, in fifty years of trying.
The reason we can’t find unobtainium is that Alien races already mined our planet. And left behind giant pyramids of waste products.
This has forced us to use fossil fuels, further contaminating our planet.
If and when we ever do contact alien races, lawyers will have a field day.
Simple.
I live on Earth, and there is life here.
I cannot visit other planets, therefore there is no life there.

The point of about whether we had gained alien tech was not mentioned.
I read something years ago that actually makes sense given today's events. Following the Roswell crash the government successfully tried to make contact with ETs. President Eisenhower met with them at Muroc; and, ET told him that the world must coalesce under a single government because they were NOT going to establish diplomatic relations with 300 individual nations on a backward planet. The quest for global government commenced.
Now that we seem to be closing on global governance we see the government trying to acclimate the public to the ET presence.
If that happens, that civilization will be so far away and subject to the physical laws that we are bound by that communication and contact will be nearly impossible.

All of that verbiage assumes we now know all of the laws of physics and that there is no set of knowledge which supersedes what we call science.
The truth of the matter simply requires forgetting who influenced Einstein, and who and what Tesla was trying to achieve. The rewriting of 4 or 200 ‘quaternions’ formulated by James Clerk Maxwell by the self-educated, momma’s boy Oliver Heaviside, from the original field equations (because “field equations are abominations”) into vector equations, resulted in giving us all we know of the electromagnetic spectrum.
The original field equations (’quaternions’) postulated a totally different Universe that the one we now pursue - one attributes claimed is the nullification of distance, making far away peoples next door neighbors.
Perhaps, we are meant to fill it up.

Because they never left? Consider our known history’s origins are very murky. Where did the Sumerians learn to count base 60? And so many more unknown origins of basic things. Not to mention all the cities and structures drowned under 100s of feet of sea water.
What if there were many prior Earthly civilizations whose ‘tech’ we cannot recognize as such left due to impending catastrophes, like the one which caused real climate change from 10600-9600BC wiping out all of the mega-fauna and burning off 4% of the Earth’s vegetation?
If we knew of some inevitable meteor or comet strike which would cause an ELE in 100 years for instance, would not every effort be made to flee the Earth before the disaster?
So saying these ‘craft’ are aliens may be a stretch too far, as it make more sense they are our ancestors gone to space (the Heavens).
I welcome your speculation. Have any ideas to share, low-brow or otherwise?

The thing about aliens is they are alien and that goes for their tech. The mind can only process that which is familiar. All else it makes into something recognizable, but has no bearing on what the thing actually is.
We cannot ‘see’ what we cannot recognize. So we would not and could not see truly alien tech, until it became familiar.
