ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The newly crowned Miss America has made history, becoming both the first Korean American and the first Alaskan to hold the title in the competition's 100-year history.
"I never could have imagined in a million years that I would be Miss America, let alone that I would be Miss Alaska," a beaming Emma Broyles told The Associated Press

See? Not to worry. She sounds plenty blonde.
Nothing online about her family. Her dad is probably not Korean.
You’re right, the ultimate “first” would be a person who is neither a Miss nor from America.
As long as Miss America is never Mr America, i.e. transgender.
At least she wasn't Italian heritage. I suspect anyone whose ancestors came from south of Pilsen.
Too many brunettes.
You are right. I have seen many, having known them in Korea and here, and know a number of attractive Philippine women as well. Furthermore, without a doubt they act in a more feminine way that has been lost on a lot of U. S. girls. It’s not merely the outward appearance, its the inward confidence and moral strength that draws my attention. This Alaskan citizen sounds like a true winner, who can carry our flag here and abroad.
In Asia, Japanese women have the reputation of being the most beautiful, with Korean a close second.
And, yes, I think Asian women have retained their feminity in a way that (sadly) many American women have not.
Lots of Korean-Americans are gorgeous. Maybe not as much as a Filipina-American. Gotta say that for The Wife!
“No, next year Miss America will be a thing.”
There she is, Miss Cthulhu...
If she were a transgendered man, then it would be a trifecta.
She’s cute, I don’t see the problem.
Pshhh! Try Fairbanks for cold! -40’s. A-town had what, single digits?
At first I thought she might be adopted but her mother is of Korean heritage born in America. Her father seems to be white.
at least it is a woman and not a man pretending to be a woman.
As a blonde haired, blue-eyed woman, I see nothing wrong with this pretty young lady winning.
There are a number of very beautiful, delicately feminine women with Korean blood in their veins.
LOL - you’re probably right.
I think on Wednesday it got down to minus 8f in ANC. Glad to be back in balmy SEAK.
I’m not saying she isn’t mildly attractive, but I’d kick her outa my bed for eating crackers.
