To: Night Hides Not

I was in the Navy 1967-71. I would have loved to see women try to help load 5” ammunition on a Destroyer.

LOL, likewise with them trying to load a 192 pound Sidewinder missile on its rail.

Back then, I rarely had squads that were fully manned (5 soldiers). There were many field exercises and evaluations where I was down to 3 man squads. I stayed close to those squads so I could assist during reloading, which was often: each system held 4 missiles.

Just in case a snarky evaluator thought about “offing “ me, my driver acted as my bodyguard. lol

Even with 4 grown men, loading those missiles was not easy, especially during wet weather.
