Today’s Cryptogram

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: todayscryptogram
You can find this fun quotation puzzle, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications. I challenge us with the best ones out there.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days.  If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.

PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.

You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!

I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.

You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

   HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

This one certainly was a MYSTERY until I got the author’s name.

I had a little trouble too on this one, was a real MYSTERY, then I recalled a story about a VICAR and like an EXPRESS running down hill, I solved it.

As long as there are people out there like you, who enjoy them, I’ll keep posting them.

BTW if anyone cares, this was today’s CG from the Arkansas Gazette

You’ll tell immediately, when you see the author, why I skipped posting it.

Tough one for me this morning. About 5 min. Started with most common letter, lucky guess at 6th word. 4th word is common pattern. Tried a letter that ends a lot of words which revealed last name of author and the rest became apparent.

Yes, I can see why you didn’t want to post that. The wise Latina has no clue about individuality.

But thanks for the extra one to solve. 😀

Thanks for the extra puzzle today.
Although I sometimes find the quotes inspiring, I follow the daily CG mainly for the puzzle aspect.
Who says it or what they say is not my priority.
Being able to solve it without the hints (not always possible for me) is why I’m here

I should add that following my post 11 clue, I solve a cryptogram. 🤣

PS - The ‘wise’ latina wishes we were all as ignorant as her.

As fast as I can type. I started with the most common letter, which gave me the favorite pattern word XYRXQY. The rest flowed from there.

Heh...the repeating pattern ODY should have made this easy, but I guess I should have had my covfefe first! Don’t know why the author’s name was such a mystery to unlock.
