In July of last year, the Shelby GT350 “Ken Miles R-Model” Mustang Prototype sold for a hammer price of $3.5 million ($3.85 million with fees) at auction in Indianapolis, making it the most expensive Ford Mustang ever sold. For reasons unknown, the buyer has decided to flip it, and the iconic Mustang will be up for sale once again, this time at Mecum’s Kissimmee, Florida auction in January.
This GT350R broke the record for world’s priciest Mustang that had been set by the 1968 Ford Mustang GT driven by Steve McQueen in the film Bullitt. It has an incredible pedigree; a resume only topped by Carroll Shelby himself. And that history will undoubtedly result in the auction house raking in big bucks all over again. The only question is whether it will beat its own record this time.

I remember an extremely beautiful young woman that got killed in a car just like that.
what a damn shame.
My God, what an UGLY front bumper! Looks like they just took the bumper over the to bandsaw and chopped a chunk out of the middle. That was real innovative thinking!
” ... a car just like that.”
Not “just like that”
functionality over looks.
BTW I think that is exactly what they did.
“My God, what an UGLY front bumper! Looks like they just took the bumper over the to bandsaw and chopped a chunk out of the middle. That was real innovative thinking!”
And that ugly tape over the headlights will never catch on!
Pricey pony.
Yep. Sawing stuff up is just how things happen.
That is simply not a car to put an inexperienced driver in.
thats where it starts.. watch bitching rides for proof ;)
Functionality on the track, perhaps. But not on the street.
this is a track car that happens to be street legal.
It’s the PROTOTYPE.......................
“this is a track car that happens to be street legal.”
This one is not street legal.
Why not?
I drove around a few years in a car that had taped on headlights!.....................
You ain’t heard nothing yet! The real bitching is yet to come!! Wait and see what happens when some find out it don’t have Wi-Fi or heated seats!
I’m sure there’s a good reason, but I don’t know what it is.
Why doesn’t Ford reuse that body on a new model. I wouldn’t care if it had weak 4 cylinder, or even electric. Is there just not enough room for all the anti-pollution crap?
Or power windows or door locks!....................
LOL you are correct ... but it was a Shelby GT350 ... lived next door to her in 69 or 70 ... she didn’t make it home one day ...
