You can make the Bible say anything you want it to...to suit your whims.
The husband is supposed to be the head of the house... rightfully so, as he “was” the bread winner... but also because he is the strong one... the one the children are supposed to revere.. and the mother is the nurturer.. those rolls have been shot all to :::::: in these later years.
You can change the rolls all you want... it works better to follow what God made us for... WWII is when the women went to work and 2 paychecks became a habit.
I was a stay at home mother... 5 kids and I was there when they were home and when they needed me. My husband worked sometimes 12 hours a day for most of his life. I took care of the home and when he came home he didn’t have a list of things to do. I was grateful I could be at home raising the kids.
Yes, we gave up things ... money was not plentiful... but today they are adults you’d be proud of.. and they have more money than I ever did.. good jobs.
When things get out of whack, it does not work well. Adjustments come and go... but yes, the husband is the head... one that should be cooperative ...
One day my husband was siting in a chair and I was doing what i do.. and he said he did not know I did all that! well, yes, how else did it get done? But they do not know what all it takes to make a home.. not till it does not get done for awhile.
The bible does not say the husband is to lord it over the wife... it says to honor her and the wives are to be submissive to the husband.... now don’t explode on that... submissive is to be workable...speak and cooperate with the flow..
the mam is supposed to be the one with the head sense... not emotional.. just common sense..
the woman is more emotional and that emotion makes her the one who takes care of the bumps and bruises... the man just says get over it...
There are exceptions... so don’t go off on me... this is my answer to submissive.
I have never been one to be submissive.... never... but get your senses together... work it out... don’t go off half ...
Yes they were Christians by their definitions.
And wrong on their strict way of raising those children.
Some will take it ok and some will rebel. some are too meek to do either.
They carried it to the extreme. Christians come in all sizes and colors... strict and hells bells...
Just being one does not make us perfect.
