Processed food, yes. But fats? Not necessarily. It depends on the type of fat. Traditional fats — lard, tallow, naturally occurring fats in fish and meat, butter and cream, etc — are part of a healthy diet. Manmade fats from seed oils are a nutritional disaster. It was shortly after the introduction of these highly processed, hydrogenized products — margarine, Crisco, canola oil, etc, — that heart disease and similar ailments shot up. Remember: the human brain is full of fat, ditto bone marrow.
