Under federal law, a first-time conviction for production of child pornography carries a sentence of 15 to 30 years. Distribution carries a sentence of 5 to 20 years. The maximum sentence for mere possession (as opposed to production or distribution) is only 10 years. They may be trying to convict him of distribution as well as possession, if they can prove he was uploading as well as downloading with uTorrent.

Because of the age of the victims and the violent nature of the pornography, he will get the maximum sentence for each count. What I don't know is if they can be stacked, i.e., multiple sentences served consecutively, one after the other.

I’m just telling you what the news has reported and keeps reporting, that is he is facing 20 years per count and there are two counts. I believe it has to do with the age of the children. He’s looking at 40 years.
