Personally I still prefer what's called the "Windows 2000 Classic" desktop:
- classic Start Menu
- classic Task Bar
- ability to pack lots of information onto the screen (not all the empty whitespace that makes sense on a cellphone but not on a computer monitor)
- absence of pop-ups: notifications, widgets, banners, assorted crapola
But I'm a Luddite -- I just want to get some work done, not play with a desktop computer that thinks it's a misbegotten hybrid of a cell phone and a video game.
I figure on giving Win11 a wide berth. I've accepted Win10 because my dayjob requires it. But Win11, in my opinion, won't be ready for real use for at least a year at the rate they're going.
