Over $800,000 in taxpayers’ money was spent on legal efforts by the Democratic Party to overturn an election for the House of Representatives last year, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
The election took place in Iowa’s 2nd congressional district, where Republican Marianette Miller-Meeks narrowly defeated Democrat Rita Hart by a margin of just six votes, out of nearly 400,000 votes cast. Hart refused to concede even after an official recount, after which the office of Iowa’s Secretary of State certified the results in favor of Miller-Meeks.
Earlier this year, Democrats utilized the power of the Committee on House Administration to formally challenge the results of the close election. The Democratic majority on the committee paid law firm Jenner & Block approximately $699,294 to attempt to overturn the results of the election. In response, the Republican minority paid another law firm, Jones Day, around $126,942 to defend the results of the election. These totals were revealed by committee records that are freely available to the public.
In addition to the amounts spent on the services of the rival law firms, the committee’s ranking Republican member says that additional costs of challenging the election were not taken into account in the congressional records.
“At the end of the day, more than a million in taxpayer dollars will have been wasted on Speaker Pelosi’s efforts to steal an election in order to grow her majority,” said ranking member Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), pointing to additional costs such as the salaries of all the staffers who also worked on the process.

Taxpayer money was spent on the Russia Hoax illegal coup attempt against Trump.
Is there a bucket of money sitting around that they can dip into? Who has to give approval of such an expenditure and where does the money come from - beside the taxpayer? What funds are used?
Why isn’t this more widely publicized? Why isn’t the Democrat party sued for this amount ..or more? Doesn’t a law mean anything to anyone but private citizens anymore? How can citizens be expected to obey laws? Maybe we need another branch of government set up completely different of private citizens for the express purpose of making certain that elected officials are obeying laws & insuring that checks & balances exist among the 3 main branches.

It’s okay- Marianette Miller-Meeks voted with the Democrats yesterday to fund the vax database. All is forgiven in Sodom on the Potomac.
BTW, Ashley Hinson also voted for the Soros/Gates/Fauci database yesterday. Way to show your gratitude to the Iowans who busted their ass for you two clowns.
Laws are for the ruled. They are not supposed to apply to the rulers./S
That is the result of Progressive philosophy. It may not have been intended, because of stupid interpretation of human nature.
Progressives do not believe in restraints on government, because they believe government is beneficial (at least in "their" hands).
It is "Progressives" doing their level best to regress us back to unlimited government.
And they are succeeding, largely because the so-called opposition party (including Miller-Meeks) seems to be fully on board with unlimited government, despite the fact that the GOP claims to be for limited government.
We are actually working to change that for the first serious time since Ronald Reagan. Even Reagan had to tread cautiously about the Media.
So many have come to doubt the Media that enough of voters are willing to throw the bums out.
Respect for the Constitution has made a come-back.
I do not know if the Republic will survive, but President Trump shows we have a chance at preserving it.
