This article is spot on. When I got Covid, without even testing my D3 level, the doctor prescribed 10,000 IU’s per day for 10 days. That was the only thing he prescribed because I was already on zinc and 5,000 IU’s per day of D3. I was also taking a variety of other supplements.
My Covid case as last March and it ended up being pretty mild. Subsequently, I had my D3 level checked last August 5 months after recovering. My D3 level was 95ng/mL which the doc felt was a little too high and recommended halving my 5,000 IU’s per day by doing 5,000 IU’s every other day. Well, I decided since the blood draw was in the dead of summer (late July) a lot of my D3 level was sun exposure related so I am still taking 5,000 IU’s per day. I live in the Pacific Northwest so we are fairly far north and don’t get enough sun from October through April.
Also, since we were going on a cruise through the Adriatic and Aegean seas in October, I wanted max protection from my D3 levels. Didn’t have an issue during or after the cruise. But then again, I was snorting my Xlear a couple times a day...ha ha ha
I take 2,000 IU in sunny months, and 5,000 with K2 mid-Fall to mid-Spring.
