I’m on the third round of reruns of Andy of Mayberry and am noticing dark themes that were introduced on the show including Ouija boards, tarot cards, cross-dressing, fortune telling, superstition, blood pacts...
Yowser. I don’t remember any of that....is it all in the later shows? Perhaps The Andy Griffith Show and Andy of Mayberry had different people at the helm?
Well, that is certainly something I never noticed, with The Andy Griffith Show.
Did Andy admonish all of this kind of behavior? I know he (Andy Griffith) was a yuge lefty, in real life.
I just did a search and came across a forum post, from years ago, that called the show out....saying there was no nuclear family.....most all of the men were single, and the ones who were married were always having domestic issues (mentioned an episode with Jack Nicholson)....Aunt Bea was a spinster.....Helen knew what was best for her students, more than parents did....the town merchant was an evil capitalist....yada, yada.
Things I’d never even given a thought about, before, for sure. 🤔
