WHat is a “secondary violence prevention specialist”?
Just the usual for the Aurora craphole.
To the extent this position has any potential to be useful, replace this guy.
Bump
You mean the massive plethora of "violence prevention programs" costing millions upon millions of dollars such as midnight basketball failed?
Back to the drawing board. Let the think tanks and theoreticians in the universities know.
They'll come up with a plan that will work this time, it'll involve defunding police and only cost $1 trillion dollars.
Aurora, Colorado, turned very dark years ago. I hate ever going through there. The once thriving Aurora Mall turned into a gang banger hangout. When the Lowry AFB was open the mall was the destination place for airmen. Lowry was a major training base for all branches of the service.
No intact family, no Christianity, this is what you get, a return to basic humanity: Tribalism with no real morality beyond the tribe, and little there.
Children are wild animals which must be taught morality and ethics.
Morality and ethics are not intrinsic to human nature.
Secondary violence prevention specialist??? I guess I'd be interested to see the job description for that position, just for a laugh.
"A Man's Got To Know His Limitations." - Dirty Harry
you get what you put up with... and more of it
“Secondary violence prevention specialist” sounds like one of those social workers that blm wants to replace the police with.
Well effin' duh! When you advocate policies that destroy traditional families and traditional values, is it any wonder the kids produced by this environment are not "thinking straight" - ie. don't exhibit normal values, priorities, and behaviors?
In the vacuum left by leftist policies the kids have developed their own social interaction framework. The answer isn't mental health efforts and drugs strapped on after the fact - it is strong families, discipline, responsibility, accountability, and consequences from an early age.
But those kinds of things aren't popular with the feel-good crowd. They want everyone to get a trophy, no-one has to learn how to handle disappointment or setbacks. No-one is responsible for their decisions and actions, someone will always come along and bail you out of the bad situation you got yourself into. Or we'll blame the gun not you dear...
Enact stupid policies, and this kind of thing is what you get. It is going to take years, decades maybe, to un-****.
Gangs and druggies shoot each other.
The rest of us stay away and let them cull the herd themselves.
Violence Prevention at CDC:
Violence is a serious problem in the United States (U.S.). It affects people in all stages of life—from infants to the elderly—and has profound impact on lifelong health, opportunity, and well-being. In 2018, nearly 19,000 people were victims of homicide and more than 1.5 million were treated in hospital emergency departments for an assault-related injury.
The number of violent deaths and injuries is just part of the story. Many people survive violence and have permanent physical and emotional scars. Violence also erodes communities by reducing productivity, decreasing property values, and disrupting social services.
The Division of Violence Prevention:
In 1979, the U.S. Surgeon General identified violent behavior as a key public health priority. In 1980, CDC began studying patterns of violence. This effort grew into a national program to reduce the death and disability associated with injuries outside the workplace. In 1992, CDC established the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) as the lead federal organization for violence prevention.
The Division of Violence Prevention (DVP) is one of three divisions within NCIPC. Its mission is to prevent violence and its consequences so that all people, families, and communities are safe, healthy, and free from violence.
DVP is committed to stopping violence before it begins (i.e., primary prevention). The division works to:
Monitor violence-related behaviors, injuries, and deaths
Conduct research on the factors that put people at risk for or protect them from violence.
Create and evaluate the effectiveness of violence prevention programs, practices, and policies.
Help state and local partners plan, implement, and evaluate violence prevention efforts.
Promote the effective adoption and dissemination of violence prevention strategies.

They’re not going to do anything about it because the people involved are in a protected class. The left loves all the violence and chaos.
