Do they fly or do they somehow just sort of hop up branch to branch on trees and then glide down from height? I recently witnessed five turkeys coming down one at a time out of a tree just sort of gliding to the ground.
They can take off from the ground and get 20-30 feet in the air and fly for maybe 30 seconds but that’s their limit. Just enough to get away from something.
Generally, not far.
Usually, just up into the trees to roost and down again, but can go a distance if so inclined.
They don't soar like eagles.
Otherwise, they would be eagles.
