He was getting close. Lebec is 100 miles from where I’m writing this.

Was the wolf acting like a dog and chasing cars?

“no wolf has been documented in the central valley or coastal counties for 200 to 300 years.”
That 100 year uncertainty is strangely imprecise to be coming from a supposed science authority.

Are these wolves normally roaming around alone like that? Was there a Mrs. Wolf; did he ever mate with anyone?

"In this annual time of reflection, I thank him for the hope he gave us and for a brief glimpse into what it would be like for wolves to roam wild and free again."
Umm...there's a reason they're not roaming wild and free, Idiot

Animals do not appear to comprehend the movements of motor vehicles that humans drive. I've seen a lot of animals besides wolves dead on the side of the road. Deer, squirrels, skunks, dogs and cats. You name it.
I'm thinking that we need to build "animal tunnels" under our highways, so that animals will have a place to get across the roadways without having to judge how quickly a moving vehicle is bearing down upon them.

The general consensus was he was searching out a mate, not realizing it was unlikely he would find a female wolf in California.
