SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Bay Area police departments have called what happened at various retail stores this weekend "looting."
We saw similar crimes happen in the wake of the George Floyd protests, but are the past weekend's crimes truly considered looting?
Race and Social Justice Reporter Julian Glover is here to give us some context of looting.

To some, the distinction may be small, but Lorenzo Boyd, PhD, Professor of Criminal Justice & Community Policing at the University of New Haven, and a retired veteran police officer, emphasized that words matter.
"Looting is a term that we typically use when people of color or urban dwellers are doing something. We tend not to use that term for other people when they do the exact same thing," said Boyd.
"As the Bay Area grapples with a wave of seemingly organized smash and grab robberies this weekend, policing and journalism analysts are cautioning against the use of the term looting," Julian says.

Looting has mostly been associated with taking something during an emergency and or a state of unrest.
It’s aLl considered stealing ..but only if you are a non poc.
POC have to steal because their great great grand parents might have been slaves.
And therefore the US Constitution and our laws do no apply them.
And if you lilly white blue eyed devils think otherwise..then it’s obvious you are a racist!

We ALL know what “looting” is and we also know that “to loot” has nothing to do with color.
Now it may be true that riots happen in Black neighborhoods, so that those looters happen to be Black.
It also may be true that more looters tend to be Black than other races. Moral compass, lack of fathers in the home, socio/economic standards, etc. But, The terms “looting” or “looters” are race BLIND! and EVERYONE (except THIS guy) KNOWS that.
If Blacks stopped playing the “race card”, racism would disappear.
AND as an aside... “Driving while Black is a MYTH.
Driving while your license/registration/inspection/insurance has expired.
Driving with equipment violations, lights, windows broken/tinted.
Driving a vehicle registered to a known felon/person having a warrant.
Driving a vehicle that was reported stolen.
Driving unsafely, not obeying traffic laws, speeding, lane changes, failure to signal, maintaining a lane, etc.
All of those things can result in a traffic stop.
NONE of those things are because the driver is Black. Usually the race of the occupants is unknown.
I suggest “unauthorized shopping”.
I agree this is organized crime not simple looting. Time to break out RICO and put a quick stop to it.
If color enters your mind when charging a crime, you are the racist. If you use it to excuse crime, you are a racist.
So, riddle me this, copper. If your children were abused by one color — you’d not charge them? That makes a difference to you?
