Canned just like they brought over on the Mayflower.
My grandfather used to tell me about being a Army cook during WW 2 and making Baked Turkeys for the guys on a airfield on Truk he said a couple of the of the canned Turkeys’ had dates that place them close to the first Thanksgiving

Lol!
My grandfather worked in cranberry bogs so that he could be near my father while he was in amnesia camp after being run over by a bus twice. His big brother had made him retrieve a ball from under the bus. The driver went forward and then reversed to see what he’d run over.
Canned cranberry sauce is our tradition.

Canned,
Served in the original glorious shape of the can.
To: mylife
Neither for me, thanks. I don’t like cranberries in any form, not fresh, jellied, dried, or juiced.
To: mylife
Fresh is best. I put it through a food mill because I think the peelings are disgusting, much like remnant peelings in applesauce. But I am not above buying the jello-ish canned stuff because I eat it all year round with poultry.
To: mylife
Oh, yes!!!!
I just made some fresh c’berry sauce. I love it but the rest of my family likes the jellied stuff.

I picked up a vintage Ocean Spray collector’s edition cranberry sauce mold at a thrift store for 99¢.

LOL! Before I saw the word 'mold' I thought you'd bought an old can of sauce!
I have an old yellow ware mold with a corn motif for mine.

I like a well-made Lingonberry tart from a quality bakery.

Fresh: from mother-in-law. Family tradition, my contribution this Thanksgiving.
Fresh cranberries, fresh apple, fresh orange (rind included), sugar and lemon jello. Chop and add jello. Make day before. D E L I C I O U S !

I am no expert, but those definitely looks like pomegranate arils to me. I admit, I know next to nothing about cranberries, so you are likely right.
