Any “fact checker” or “explainer” is highly suspect in my opinion. What makes these unprofessional self-appointed arbiters of truth qualified to proclaim “facts”?

NOTHING. Nothing at all. Very few of them reveal their identities which makes them very suspicious out of the chute.

Right out of the gate it’s a common type of fallacy: “Appeal to Authority”, as in, believe them, because they are “doctors” and have the credentials, or in this case, believe them because “they” are “fact checkers”. Its a claim that something must be true because it is believed/endorsed by someone who is said to be an “authority” on the subject.
