The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.

One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
An author I am sure you all know.
If you need a clue ask the group to send you a letter to your private reply.

Self-defence therefore as it is justly called the primary law of nature, so it is not, neither can it be in fact, taken away by the law of society.

If you want on or off the daily cryptogram ping list reply to this post and state your intention: ON or OFF.
Ahhhhh, prosody at it’s best.
I guessed at the single letter word, figured the author had to be more than a normal name, so guessed at the first and third word of “author”. The rest was easy to fill in especially with your very excellent image hint.
I was lost until I realized the language was “unusual”.
I’m glad my clue wasn’t a total giveaway.
Rest assured it was not a total giveaway, the particular double letter in “author” name gave me fits for a few minutes till I got the word right before it.

Clever use of spacing! But I come from a line of cryptogram champs and saw right through it. Bwahahaha! This one took me under 30 seconds to crack, starting from the attribution. The rest comes easy.
MRTF?
WTF?
(only one is encrypted)
Yes, the meaning follows from context. Archaic for sure, first time I’ve encountered it.
Yes it’s my birthday
Are they allowed to consume that?
Would not say I know of this one other than a name. Not in my curriculum.
The ... medieval historian Al-Qifti (ca. 1172–1248) ... in his The History of Learned Men reports that Omar's poems were only outwardly in the Sufi style but were written with an anti-religious agenda. He also mentions that Khayyam was indicted for impiety and went on a pilgrimage to avoid punishment.[12]
