If that's the case, why the push to legalize everything of late? No, the truth is that in more and more states, the petty tyrants see "vice revenue" as the goose that lays the golden eggs...at least in the short term. But eventually, when your sources of revenue depend on drugs, alcohol, and gambling, you end up with a completely dysfunctional society. Sort of like Philadelphia right now:
