Meat really has been cheap for a long time. In 1981, meat prices were going up, and I decided to try to buy non-ground beef for less than $3.00/lb for as long as I could. Back then, you could still buy T-bones and such for that. Still, London broil was on sale for $2.77/lb at a local grocery store last week.

I fear that the author is right, though, and that may have been the last time I’ll see such a price.
