I TOLD you that you should wear a mask at the office! /sar
I was at a city clerk’s office yesterday - with about 5 workers in the room. They clearly were not required, nor were they, wearing masks at their desks. But, when one or another got up to the window where I was, they’d stick one on... only while at the window. There was a plexiglass pane between us. Totally ridick. One agent took some papers from me for photocopying, mask on at the window, mask off at the copier.
I was there 20 minutes, so it was not completely ritual - one guy “forgot” to put mask on at the window. Another was pretty enamored with the petitions I was turning in, and reached thru the window opening to shake my hand in thanks (it was for Voter ID in a very liberal city).
In the office where I work, our policy throughout the scamdemic has been that you do not have to wear a mask in you own work area. If you leave your area and go to someone else's area, you have to don the mask. We have some people who always wear their mask, even when alone in their area (the area may be a cubicle, or a corner with walls such as I have).
During those halcyon days of being "fully vaccinated" the masks were no longer required (though some continued wearing them). This past summer, one person from the office tested possible for COVID and missed at least 4 months of work and spent time in the hospital. This caused us to have to return to the previous masking rules.
