Biden proposes 20-year ban on new oil drilling near Native American site in New Mexico
President Joe Biden announced Monday a proposal for a 20-year ban on new oil and gas drilling near Chaco Canyon in northwest New Mexico -- one of the oldest Native American sites in the US -- White House officials said. In the coming weeks, the Department of Interior's Bureau of Land Management will start the agency process to effectively bar new oil and gas leasing on federal lands within a 10-mile radius around Chaco Culture National Historical Park. The park is one of just 24 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country.

This will go away. I think only a few of the “Indians” are worried about the land the rest will want the money to raise their standard of living.
Why not a 1000 year ban? And a 100 mile radius? I mean, do they want to stop drilling or not?
To be honest I don’t think there’s much interest in drilling in that area anyway. Worked on a bunch of wells back in the 80’s in that area but they were all nth west of that area. Well outside the 10 mile radius. It’s just for show.
Venezuela is going to look like an economic miracle after this regime is finished.
That will bolster employment.
But we will all be driving electric cars by next summer. Why would there be a need to drill for more oil, ever?

Yep, that’s what this is all about. The regime is deliberately raising gas prices in an effort to force people to drive electric cars and I just bought a new gas powered car last year. Tom Cotton was saying this yesterday. Fine, Xiden wants to pull this crap democrats are going to destroy themselves.
The San Juan is a mostly a gas basin anyway. Plenty of natural gas to go around these days.

The white man came and pushed the Indians off of any land that could be used for farming or grazing onto the most useless areas left over as Indian Reservations. Lo & behold oil was discovered and we had rich Indians. I seen now that the Great White Father (the racist sob) wants to take that away form them. Someone needs to let the Natives know what is happening so that they stop their lockstep voting for Democrats.
I don’t recall the oil/gas industry going all in for Trump in 2020. They made their bed. Now they can lay in it.
