A Flagler County School Board member filed a criminal complaint with her county's sheriff's office last week after discovering that a memoir about a queer writer was available in area schools.
Jill Woolbright took offense at the book All Boys Aren't Blue:A Memoir-Manifesto being available at Palm Coast High School, Mantanzas High School and Buddy Taylor Middle School.
"I don't have a problem with the book—I do have a problem with where the book has been placed," she told WESH. "Some child could be disturbed to read a book that they're not ready for."
Author George M. Johnson begins the memoir with a content warning, noting that sexual assault, homophobia, racism and sex are discussed. In her police report, Woolbright shared two chapters she found particularly offensive.
"Chapter 11 discusses in detail, and very descriptive, about masturbation and oral sex. Chapter 15 'Losing my virginity twice' is also very descriptive and discusses masturbation, oral sex, and sodomy," she said.
The author, for their part, said that the book is not harmful to children.
"My book is not what is doing your child harm – it is you who will do your child harm by not allowing them to one: learn that other people exist in this world who have a different lived experience than them and, two: not allowing them to have the language or this particular resource to deal with the problems that will come to them in this world when they arise," Johnson said of the controversy.

Just HIDE them when you find them. Or toss them in the trash. Smart parents have been doing this for years.
BFD if the book sells at Amazon. Explicit sexual context shouldn’t be in schools, except colleges. At least the homosexual author included a sexual content warning.
Trash or fire, etc.
I mean there is no need to make this pervert author a martyr so lefties mass-buy his trash.
Good for her. More should do it. But they won’t.
Is this a down low brother? Or sister in disguise?
Orlando Weekly is something of an “alternative” newspaper kind of publication. Lots of glorification of homos and lesbos. “Human interest” stories that focus on same sex couples and the surviving member/s of such unions. Seems like these types of people have high rates of suicide, depression and horrific diseases.
But they are also very gung ho at spreading their favorite filth around.
They do. And high incidences of domestic violence also. Homosexuals are very violent.
You are correct, but the violence is not always from them, sometimes those who prey on them…druggies etc…I hired a sales person who had a great resume for West Hollywood metro LA territory. He was in dire need of a job. Late 1980’s. He was very successful up until a year before I hired him. Nice guy, but had serious personal issues going on. Did not close any sales and owner of the company said to let him go. Received a few calls from people looking for him after that..he seemed to have disappeared.
Several years later they found remains in Griffith Park. It seems they were looking for him after finding a bloody scene at his apartment. Turned out to be he was murdered by someone he picked up in a West Hollywood bar.
Sad…he was a gentle nice man.
That said, the life of many gays is just a very thin line from violence…many times not instigated by them.
Think you for sharing.
Many school boards are too woke to remove porn from school libraries. Plus, activist teachers are sneaking unannounced explicit books/porn into classes, like English.
Use the same techniques on leftists they use on us, folks. Destroy their lives using government.
