Why would anyone do this at home when there are tons of places doing free testing.

So they're not on some database that will be used for God knows what.

  1. You can't get an appointment to get tested.
  2. They have to send the tests off, and it will be a couple of days before you get results. Home tests work in 15 minutes.
  3. You don't want to go somewhere where people who have it have been.
  4. You may have been exposed, but don't have symptoms yet.
  5. Convenience. You don't have to go anywhere.
  6. You don't want to go get tested every time you might have a symptom.
  7. And if you feel sick, you don't feel like getting out anyway. If you can rule out Covid, maybe you can ride out whatever it is. But if it is covid, then the faster you get checked and confirmed and start taking treatments the better.

I bought several home test kits for about $25 each. My kids were at their mom's house and a young cousin came over. The next day the cousin tested positive for Covid. So my kids thought they had been exposed. Fortunately I had provided them with test kits. They used it 3 days after the exposer and again at 6 days. Both were negative.

So I bought more. Money well spent.
