The article is a bit overheated.
My sister normally has Thanksgiving at her house. She is not holding it this year over fear of Covid in general (for the vaxxed or unvaxxed).
She is the hostess—that is her call—no drama—nobody is angry or offended in any way.
The article does not even discuss that approach.
My sister-in-law and her husband are in their 80s. They have both been vaccinated and naturally have a great fear of Covid.
My wife and I are in our 60s and unvaccinated for obvious reasons.
We respect and even agree with their decision not to have contact with each other because we are unvaccinated. But oh, how we miss them. Do we miss them enough to put our lives at risk by getting vaccinated? Nope.
But because of their age and their health concerns, they do not want to take chances. And I don’t blame them.
