Netflix will send out an email if they think someone's account has been compromised (or if they think a subscriber is sharing their log-in info with other users, from different time zones and/or different IP addresses).

Shutting the account off is one way they'll stop this.

As long as the user can verify that they are actually talking to Netflix (and not a scammer) they should be safe in giving out their payment info.

I received an email stating there was a new sign-in to my account

I was IN that chat yesterday and that was when I first became suspicious.

This morning I used the LL telephone and got the same suspicious questions.

I REALLY want to finish the binge serial I am watching ... or WAS watching.
