Years ago in college, there was a guy who got a nickname, like Sleepy. It just stuck.
One day he announced "I don't like Sleepy. I want you to start using 'Franz' which was my nickname in high school. That's what I'm called from now on."
Almost in unison, everyone replied "Shut up, Sleepy."
And he is STILL called Sleepy today.
