Tarantino is an absolute genius when it comes to dialogue, nobody comes even close to that guy. Have you ever seen that movie “True Romance”, the “Eggplant scene” with Walken and Dennis Hopper? Absolutely brilliant, Tarantino wrote that.

Yep. Great scene. Hopper knew what was up so he goaded Walken into killing him quickly. One of the most powerful scenes in all filmdom. I wish Tarantino has used half that much writing talent in that never ending boring bar scene in “Death Proof.”
The pub scene in “Inglorious Basterds” is a clinic on how to build tension in a scene. That and the opening Hans Landa scene, as well. You know what’s going to happen, but still you’re on the edge of your seat.
