HR acknowledged receipt of my request but it’s been several weeks with no decision or updates. A lot of people seem to suggest refusing to play ball, lying, or citing laws/legal material, but I decided to just fill out the form in the spirit that seems to be requested and let the chips fall where they may. I’m at peace with whatever the outcome ends ups being.
Two weeks before my son left for Bowling Green (BGSU) Ohio, they announced that they WOULD NOT be requiring the vaccine.
Within two weeks after he moved in, they announced they WOULD be requiring a vaccine for Spring semester 2022. They require proof of vaccination OR an application for exemption for:
Religious
Medical
Personal Conscious
My son has consistently maintained that he WILL NOT take the vaccine. That said, he applied for a religious exemption, which was approved just last week.
He indicated in his application, that were they to deny his exemption, he would seek his education elsewhere.
Based on their recent email communication, you will need to reapply for the granted exemption periodically.
So what does that mean? I have no idea. They state that out of 2,207 exemption requests from students, faculty and staff, they approved 1,769.
Would love to see the applications they denied...
One of my kids is in a very specialized engineering field for a large government contractor.
What you wrote is essentially what he did and his exemption has gotten preliminary approval.
