My wife and I actually used to own a house in Pathum Thani . It was about a klick of the Mae Nam Chao Praya river. We got deeply flooded out many times ,and finally after a big renovation and remodel it happened again and we sold out . Our problem was not fish however. It was cobras ...cobras and Noo hang mai , green pit vipers/ two steps. The rising waters would drive them into the houses . Them and the 4 foot long water monitor lizards. You needed a bost , which we had, to live there. Enough already ...

As a teen growing up, our house on Fatio Lane* had a large glass window from ceiling to floor. As a budding aquarist, I envisioned a outdoors fish pond beyond that window that allowed a “doggy door” to the living room, which was flooded to have fish swimming underfoot. Scattered “islands” of concrete steps would permit the family to grab snacks from the adjacent kitchen. (We were all teetotalers). ;)
