I read a book in war college about the “Mental model” each person has and while it was not this blunt, it described many of these same characteristics of the human creature.

I fully agree that Sanity is a spectrum, and it can also be episodic/contextual, at lease somewhat.
Problem is that in the current context of Biden and his handlers and/or minions running everything, many more of us on the conservative side are flirting with losing our sanity.

I was not not being so pessimistic.
I did not take resumes from every available woman before deciding to marry my wife. Looking back 36 years later, there was not much logic or clear thinking involved. It was the right decision, but not a logical one, or even one that made common sense, given our cultural, economic and family backgrounds. You would have been hard pressed to find two less compatible people.
How many people buy a car because of the color? There are very few, if any less logical reasons to do something. However, does that mean the white Camry was a less good choice than the red Impala? Maybe, maybe not.
My favorite color is orange. That’s because the character Saul in the movie Solent Green’s favorite color was orange. It was not a logical decision.
Where it becomes problematic is when apply such trivial reasoning to important stuff. That is where we are stupid, lazy and insane.

Any of my friends would tell you I’m not lazy. In fact they wonder how I even get any sleep or do as much as I do between my primary residence and my mobile home I’m renovating in NH on our vacation property.
