Insulin is a little bit like Irish coffee. Alcohol and caffeine. Carbs and insulin. My wife is a Type 1. She is grateful for a Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor and a Tandem TSlim2 insulin pump. Even so, it requires self-discipline to control the carb intake. It's also not foolproof. The infusion site cannula can bend on insertion yielding no insulin infusion. It can take 4 hours to detect that it's not working.
