Insulin is a little bit like Irish coffee. Alcohol and caffeine. Carbs and insulin. My wife is a Type 1. She is grateful for a Dexcom G6 continuous glucose monitor and a Tandem TSlim2 insulin pump. Even so, it requires self-discipline to control the carb intake. It's also not foolproof. The infusion site cannula can bend on insertion yielding no insulin infusion. It can take 4 hours to detect that it's not working.

That’s pretty much the extent of it. The point of pro bodybuilding is for show. Any notion that these people are the picture of good health or are athletes is nonsense. In short, they’re show ponies, nothing more. (Full disclosure: I have an ordinary, non-spectacular build, so maybe I’m just jealous?)

I’d say not only that, but the starvation diets they endure on competition weeks, putting themselves on diets that rival concentration camp schedules, using diuretics to dump as much water as possible to achieve the cut look, and, of course the extra body mass imposing the increased burden on the heart, all contribute. They’re not athletes, and don’t enjoy the same health benefits of the cardiovascular work and fitness associated with such people.

Exactly what happened to my son-in-law. Less than 30 days after the second shot. He didn’t have to wait five years. Now we would take those five years. No comorbidities.
