How Democrats Got Desperate (after hugh election day losses)
The Atlantic ^ | 11/06/21 | Russell Berman

The progressives blinked.

For months, the feisty left flank of the House Democratic Caucus insisted it would not provide the votes to pass President Joe Biden’s $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure package until the Senate first approved the rest of the president’s economic agenda.

**SNIP**

Then the off-year voters had their say. Three days after Republicans swept Democrats in Virginia and nearly toppled them in New Jersey, the progressives released the legislative hostage they had held captive for three months and helped pass the bipartisan infrastructure package. Fearing a total collapse of the Democratic agenda - and anticipating that they would be blamed for its failure - they had determined that they could hold out no longer. They were, in a word, desperate.

In return for helping to send the Senate-passed infrastructure bill to Biden’s desk, the progressives secured only a promise - that the House would eventually pass the far more expansive Build Back Better Act, a $1.75 trillion bill that provides universal prekindergarten for 3- and 4-year-olds, expanded child-care benefits, four weeks of paid family leave, and historic investments in the climate fight. When they arrived at the Capitol this morning, House Democrats believed they would be voting on both the infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better Act. But a small group of moderates - just large enough to sink a party-line vote because of the Democrats’ minuscule majority - told Pelosi they would not vote for the larger proposal without a full estimate from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office of its impact on federal deficits.

Pelosi already knows who will vote for it and against it. It’s all a play act. She tells them how to vote, who will betray their party and which Dems will be allowed to vote against her and which R’s will vote for it. It’s a game.

It will pass the house and senate. What the communists want, the communists get.

What the hellp is McCarthy doing? Clearly he is a completely ineffective “leader”.

This “spending bill” isn’t going to help the average American. Fuel prices will stay high. Inflation will continue. Unemployment and food stamps will remain high. Tax revenue won’t catch government spending. The Fed will have to increase interest rates. Products won’t be on the shelf.

It will help some Democratic Party donors who do construction, and Democratic cronies, but not to the level they expect.

I don’t know if it won’t help the country though. Some of the infrastructure, which is like 10% of the bill, probably will.

We still need a balanced budget Amendment.

This , ladies and gentlemen, is the UniParty at full throttle.

They just realized that after 2022 its a MAGA world-if they can’t overcome the people with fraud

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

No, he is a REPUBLICAN “leader”..... just like McConnell.

The fact that someone wears an “R” after their name does not translate to them doing what’s in the best interest of the nation, its citizens or even the branch of the UniParty that claims them.
They are above all, POLITICIANS, and as such are beyond all trust.
