The Broyles of Tennessee were visiting Yellowstone National Park where they got an unexpected welcome on the park’s entrance road.
A herd of bison, estimated to number around 150, sauntered down the highway stopping traffic and engulfing the Broyles’ SUV, all captured on video.

There’s a great campground there.....one was walking around outside our camper
They own the place
They walk around the front yards of homes
I want to report a group of bison.
Herd.
What?
Herd of bison.
Of course I’ve heard of bison. I’m in a crowd of them right now!
About a hundred thousand buffalo burgers...
Glad the drivers didn’t decide to honk their car horns at them...
I blame Disney for so many with inadequate respect for dangerous wild animals.
I worked with a young lady and her dad had a couple dozen. The fence was welded piping and no corners. If they get bunched up, they can easily knock down the fence.
Isn’t this a daily occurrence in Yellowstone? I thought it was some tourist who was high on someting getting surrounded by buffalo because of her odd behavior.
I have been surrounded by the Wind Cave bison herd in South Dakota. It’s quite intimidating.
Also was surrounded by a passing elephant herd when I was in the Serengeti years ago.
Roger Miller told me not to.
Saw them like that at Custer State Park in South Dakota, got some great photos from 2 feet away out the car window. Estimated the herd at 400.
Omg, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen things like that, but not that many animals, and not for that long. Their Southern accents made it even more entertaining, and I’m glad they filmed and shared this with the world.
Thanks for the direct link. I need to share this.
I had Thoroughbred horses who did the same thing but at full speed.
Impressive animals. Survivors of the Ice Age which included woolly mammoths, and woolly rhinos.
Every year that happens, they are unpredictable. One good story was the guy from Estes who called into work one day and said, “I’m going to be late but I’m not sure how late.”
Work: “Why?”
“There’s an elk calving in my driveway.”
Funny...same reason I'd like to get rid of ALL MSM.
But you can be happy, if you’ve a mind to.
Roger Miller said “You Can’t Roller-skate in a Buffalo Herd”
Yup. Once at Custer it was the bison experience and the 2nd time there it was a donkey herd experience. Donkey slobber all over the car windows.
I was cruising the Custer State PPark roads in the black hill of SD when I had to stop for a bunch of tourist cars.
The buffalo had decided to lay down on the road and no one seemed to know what to do.
I sat there for a moment, nothing happened so I jumped out of the car and chased them off the highway.
Y’@ll should have seen the look of surprise on most of their faces
