My husband and I were harangued today by members of the neighborhood garage band we’re in. We’re all over the age of 65 and the 2 oldest guys are “fully vaccinated.” When I mentioned that I’d had Covid in March 2020 and wasn’t vaccinated, they freaked out, asking me “why not” and saying they felt “it was their duty to society” to be vaccinated. They didn’t believe me when I said they could still get Covid. They’re usually pretty chill so I was totally surprised by their aggressive and intolerant reactions. I’m surrounded by pod ppl apparently.

I don’t know if I’m more appalled by the general ignorance of people or by the media which feeds and enforces that ignorance. I’ve been largely disappointed by the response of people in general. With a few exceptions, this pandemic has brought out the most tribalistic and base instincts in humans. It’s like they forgot 1,000 years of knowledge regarding disease.
“it was their duty to society”
I hate that phrase almost as much as I hate “for the greater good”.
I hope you responded that you feel it is your duty to society to be skeptical about the claims made by government bureaucrats like Fasci who have never worked an honest day in their lives and to seek out other opinions and read the scientific literature on Covid that is carried out by actual scientists and medical practioners before rushing into anything.
They've already started stealing your vowels.
