I came upon this transcript only because I had typed "we hold these truths" into a generic search. I just wanted to pull up the quote from the Declaration to copy/paste into the 5th circuit thread, because "Grave statutory and Constitutional issues" = a threat to life and liberty. Pretty obvious.
The transcript appeared at the top of the search so I wondered why it had been quoted in the context of the infrastructure bill.
Then I discovered that it was about giving everyone a shot.

For whatever reason, there is a common liberal view, that America is flawed for allegedly not living up to our highest ideals. Liberal after liberal have been issued these talking points, and spew those lines in many speeches and talks, on many subjects.

The way the liberals discuss these issues, they make it sound as if evil Republicans/conservatives/people of faith, have held back some ill defined notions of “progress”, and then say America has not lived up our highest ideals.
We could have an intellectual discussion about the concept of holding up ideals. But I don’t want to hear the liberals tell us that their side of the political aisle has certain purity on these issues, while their political opponents are the ones who have not lived up to the ideals being discussed.
