Well, it depends on how you define “Latino.”

Are Spaniards in Spain “white”? There are some Moors in the gene pool, but it’s a Caucasian country. If those Spaniards move to Mexico or Chile or Argentina and have descendants with no (or minimal) indigenous ancestry, are those offspring “white”?

Latinos were White until the ‘60’s when they chose to become a minority based on culture for protected status under discrimination laws. It’s a movement called Azatlan. Check it out for more info.
