In the late hours of election day, I received an "alarming" email from "Glenn Youngkin," although I seriously doubt he wrote it himself.
Here's what Youngkin's email said:
Dear ________,
"CODE RED - If I don’t raise at least $8,285 in the next hour, it is GAME OVER for Republicans in states like Virginia & beyond.
We need you to step up, and we need you to do it quickly.
We can’t wait any longer."
Here is My Response: (Nov. 3, 2:30 a.m. EDT)
"Congratulations, Mr. Youngkin!
You won! (And you did it without my money.)
I did, however, work feverishly to spread the word and encourage Virginians to vote.
(You're welcome.)
I knew we could do it. Now it's time to Celebrate!"
Are you sure he won? Did the rats 🐀 bring in truckloads of ballots at the end, to steal it?
Scandalous!
Just remember, the kids driving those fundraising emails get paid dogfood rates, and are 23+ years old.
They have no perception of how desperate they make the candidate look.
I got a crap load of emails telling me how I had given up on Trump in 2020.... because I missed a fundraiser deadline.
I knew it was just young kids, trying to prop up donation tallies, because they got paid off of those tallies.
No senior campaign staff ever oversee the social media kids cranking out twice a day emails.
So yes, don’t feel bad for not donating three times a day...
Fight On!!!
I don’t trust ‘Now or Never!!!” emails like that.
Even if real, I don’t want to seem like such an easy mark.
It ain’t over until the required amount of ballots are printed, filled out, packaged, and dropped off at the required precincts. And McBarf’s got lots of time to do it.
Whoever runs the GOP social media fundraising ought to be shot and then fired. This is something done at all levels (the messages allegedly from DJT Jr were worse than that).
I think they are designed to take advantage of senior citizens and are of the same ethical character as AARP...the problem is that the seniors today are no longer WWII generation who think color TV is a brand new magic box.
But, whatever. I got off of all their mailing lists after the Tea Party revolution got compromised by the establishment GOP they were fighting against.
It ain’t over til The PUNK McAwful CONCEDES!
They should call it “Harold Camping”.
Did u check the dollar box in the fed tax form?
Me neither...
Politicians. Does not matter what party they want your money hook or crook.
People out there shouting at the top of their lungs red wave like that is going to fix what is broken in this once great Nation. Until we weed the garden, nothing changes. Just shuffling chairs on a sinking ship
I did plenty of work for him too but I also threw a few bucks at his campaign. I guess I do not mind giving that amount. Campaigns cost money and even though he is worth $400M, I do not think he should only use his money but I trust he used some.
As someone elsewhere said on FR, the Post Office hasn’t voted yet. lolol.
My mobile phone # (which I have had since 2017) used to belong to some lib named Terry. I still get texts for him or her, usually along the lines of "Terry, Republicans want to take away the right of black people to vote! Can we count on you to support Beto, Bernie, Liz Warren, Biden et al to protect this sacred right?"
I started to taunt them with texts like "Woo-hoo! McAuliffe is dropping in the polls!"
They quit texting me.
I’ve thought of that, but I don’t want them to start sending more texts in an effort to troll. Yesterday I got one from the NAACP legal defense fund. I was tempted to respond with “Let’s go Brandon!”, but didn’t.
