Another article says that 40 January 6th defendants will NOT be moved. I don’t know if that’s all of them or just the ones facing the most serious charges. And will anyone be held responsible or punished for allowing these horrible conditions?

Not surprising. I occasionally frequent a bar where a bunch of guards from the county jail hangout. Those guys will tell you they are conservatives, but their stories they tell make them sound like a bunch of sadists. Very abusive and inhumane. A lot of people in that jail haven't been to court. I have this little problem these days with a lack of innocent until proven guilty ... and even then proven guilty doesn't deserve abuse.
