TMZ reports that Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs has been involved in a “serious” car accident.
It happened in Las Vegas at 3:40 a.m. local time.
Per the report, Ruggs’s condition is currently unknown. The photos from the scene show massive damage to a pair of vehicles.

There is a serious party scene in most every large city. The players could use a chaparone most of the time.

Heh, when I was 17 I was in a CYO marching band, and the instructor handed the keys to his car to one of us guys to go pick up some fried clams for the instructors.
It was an Olds 442 Convertible.

Henry Ruggs got into a car drunk, and killed someone. For which he should be punished. But surely you don't think he killed this person premeditated, or even had intent to kill.
I worked at a car wash back in 1967 for a couple of months. The car wash also did polish/wax jobs for the big car dealers nearby. So, I got to drive a bunch of muscle cars. I think my fav was the Mustang with the 271 hp motor. I know that many sedans from Japan are faster now than the 60s muscle cars were. But nothing beats a V8’s sound. Those V6s sound like dying cows.

Definitely a high impact hit. Must have burst the fuel tank which is in front of the rear axle.
In 1963 when then 17, Laura Bush ran a stop sign in a crash that killed a friend in another car. Some reports say it was her then boyfriend in the other car. The police report was released in 2000, and noted that Laura wasn't charged with a crime for the death.

I forget the name but some rookie NFLer years ago decided to buy a Suzuki GSX-1000 (0-60 in less than 2 seconds) motorcycle with his signing bonus. Though the NFL contracts specifically specify that players can’t ride motorcycles or ATVs, etc. He managed to get it up to 70 in a parking lot and eff himself up, ending his brief career. Plus he had to return the signing money.
Wealth makes people think they are invincible and above the law. And they very often are. But not always.
Now if Ruggs was an actor.....
