That must have been a long, long time ago. Long before Psycho was released. Who wants to walk into the middle of a movie? Who wants to start reading a book from the middle?
Anyway, Hitchcock didn’t decree that start times of Psycho would be announced. He decreed that you can’t enter the theater after Psycho started.
