He’s also publicly railed against what he claims is a campaign against drugs like fluvoxamine and ivermectin. And, according to three members of CETF’s scientific advisory board, he put pressure on them to promote fluvoxamine for clinical use without conclusive data that it worked for covid.
More recently, he’s adopted extremist positions on covid vaccines, which he alleges are “toxic.” He has claimed that one in 1,000 people who have received mRNA vaccines have died as a result, and even claimed the vaccines “kill more people than they save” at an FDA public forum, which was first reported by the Daily Beast.
As Kirsch has gone deeper into the anti-vaccine scene, many professional associates have increasingly distanced themselves from him. In May, all 12 members of CETF’s scientific advisory board resigned, citing his alarming dangerous claims and erratic behavior. Over the summer, the conflict reached his most recent startup, M10. Its board told him that if he wanted to remain part of the company he would have to stop making public anti-vaccine statements. In September, he resigned as CEO and gave up his board seat.
So how did a man once intent on furthering science become a source of misinformation that undermines the very research he funded?

Weird mix but it is a weird time.
Because speaking the truth is an inflammatory act.
“ Because speaking the truth is an inflammatory act.”

What exactly is the truth?
So many variations. So many accepted beliefs.
// More recently, he’s adopted extremist positions on covid vaccines, //
That is certainly troublesome these days, and obviously to be avoided at all costs.
And if you asked the author, Cat, why the obvious bias and judgmental hit piece she’d stare at you without a clue what you’re talking about.
COVID vaxx?
Nah, I don’t get involved in religious arguments.
“ And if you asked the author, Cat, why the obvious bias and judgmental hit piece she’d stare at you without a clue what you’re talking about.”

Perhaps she would.
Or as the article outlines Kirsch’s research was mishandled so she might think she isn’t bias.
But if we start asking that question of authors then we should ask the question to Stew Peters, Robert Malone, and the Magnificent Dr. Tenpenny.
Pontius Pilate, is that you?
Pejorative article, much? MIT Technology Review used to be a great man and I subscribed for years in print. Just look at the language the author chose…

The link to the first piece of evidence against the guy (”He’s refused to accept the results of a hydroxychloroquine trial...”) is about the Lancet paper that was pulled. I guess no one is expected to follow the links and instead accept the innuendo at face value.
Truth is: our body’s immune system is great and powerful and able to handle this (lab modified) virus in over 99% of the world population. That is shown repeatedly so to me that is truth/fact.
These human gain of function gene therapy shots are in no way a replacement nor even a suitable enhancement for the original immune system of a person. They are increasingly showing they do more harm(death, severe reactions, mid range reactions, breakthrough cases, etc) then if persons did not take the shot.
to me, everything else we hear about benefits of these shots is baloney. Maybe there is some miniscule fraction of 1% of people who would actually benefit in some way from the shots but I have yet to find evidence of that.
“ Pontius Pilate, is that you?”

Ahhh yes. Very cute.
It’s comments like that which lead people to view the Anti-Vaccine folks as part of a religion mixture……..a cult.
One could very easily post catch phrases from the other side of the argument.
But you know what they are and I won’t bore you.
if you suppress peoples rights to speak you’ll never find out.
“he’s adopted extremist positions”
Joining Bruno, Galileo, Willian Harvey, Francisco Redi, Newton, Faraday, Boltzmann, Einstein. Imagine a world without radicals promoting such “extremist positions”.
Natural immunity is the best. Getting there might be a challenge for some.
It is illuminating to look at history and see some of the people accused by the powers to be at the time who regarded those people's views as "extremist".
It is interesting today that, people who are all in on one side or the other seem to cross the ideological boundaries more readily on vaccine related issues and be at odds with their bedfellows.
With conservatives, we often conclude that conservatives taking a traditionally Leftist position shows their foundational principles of independence and the power of the state are skewed, and they must therefore be lacking certain conservative credentials. We can often take this view, because it generally comports well with our idea of foundational conservative views.
However, it is also true that when a Leftist takes a view that COVID related restrictions on personal liberty are an overreach by the State, it is jarring to us on the right to hear it because Leftists so infrequently deviate from their own "talking points" that we can only conclude that that person's ox is the one that got gored. Their views are so much more inconsistent in that respect, that it has to cause severe cognitive dissonance in their case due to their more monolithic and less individualistic approach to things.
Oh please - you’re the one worshipping stone the alter of Scientism.
You don’t even understand the concept and don’t even realize you’re worshipping authoritarianism.
Here’s some science for ya.
The vaccines don’t stop the spread. Don’t stop you from catching it. And the actual fatality rates of Covid deaths on the vaxxed are intentionally being buried.
Where is the “science” there? In a different time this was called “snake oil” and was the very reason the FDA was created. Not to promulgate it.
“ if you suppress peoples rights to speak you’ll never find out.”

Correct. I agree 100%.
Never called for anyone to be silenced.
I don’t control the internet. If I did, Facebook couldn’t have banned me all those times.
