He pointed a gun at the cinematographer and director and pulled the trigger. You don’t even do that with a child’s toy gun. He needs to go to prison for negligent homicide, period.
Let's remember, Rust is about an accidental shooting and Alec co-wrote it.
Gives me great pause...
This interview is pretty bizarre. It’s kind of like he’s playing a part- it’s just off, somehow. And dear god his WIFE- she’s unbalanced and apparently desperate to be in on the action. Any thought I had that he must be in his own private hell was dispelled in this interview.
The insurance company that will sue you into the ground does not see it that way Alice.
I’ve been a an NRA certified pistol instructor since 2009. Can someone explain what a “prop” gun is.
Act of GOD... right?
I like how he implies he was just a spectator or innocent bystander or something like that. Can’t understand normal thinking.
Right Alec. It’s amazing how gun toting, bible clinging, uneducated, deplorable rubes can shoot thousands of rounds without murdering someone.
I wonder if his arrogance pi$$ed off a bunch of people and they set a trap for him.
Like fragging a hated officer in the military
The risk of injury is actually quite high when someone points a loaded, fully operational weapon at another and pulls the trigger at close range.
Rules have been developed to avoid accidental shootings. Those rules should be followed.
No. When you ignore the basic rules of firearm safety it is inevitable. You are negligent Mr Baldwin. You are responsible.
One in a trillion is “too” random. This was intentional.
Some people have no problems with guns.
just a spot of bad luck, eh?
I think Baldwin is right. It takes a one-in-a-trillion superlative idiot to make that many safety errors that quickly.
It’s not one in a trillion when you act like an idiot and violate every fundamental rule of safe gun handling.
Nope. The entire reason there is such a thing as an armorer and such a stringent set of rules is that it’s extremely likely such things will happen if you’re stupid or careless enough. Baldwin is acting like he’s a poor innocent who got struck by lightning out of the clear blue sky. Who pointed the gun and pulled the trigger, Alec?
A-Lex, the insurance company will see it more like a 1:1 possibility with an un-hinged angry loud mouth liberal on set. You will be asked to kindly pay out of pocket on this one.
I refuse to call this shooting an accident. Every action taken lead to a foregone conclusion that there was a great probability of injury or death. Stopping at any of these actions would have prevented the outcome.
A gun was aimed without being safety checked.
It was aimed towards a person.
While aimed at a person the trigger was pulled.
All of this required deliberate thought and action. How is that an accident? Alec Baldwin can not claim he has no idea that bullets are very likely to cause severe injury or death
to a person. I doubt he intended to harm anybody. But that does not matter. What matters is nothing was done to mitigate a very well known risk.
