Is this the same Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome that Freddie Mercury, Steve Jobs, Rock Hudson, et al died of, or is this another brand of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome?

I believe the term used here is generic for a syndrome resulting in suppressed immunity, whatever the cause/trigger of that syndrome, so not the same. Just ‘immune suppression’ to a clinical, measurable degree.
