Of course it was torture.
These jerks cut the vocal chords of the dogs so they wouldn’t have to listen to their suffering cries. Which is to say, they knew they would cry in pain and took steps to avoid their own conscience at the expense of the dogs.
And for what purpose?
Humans have known what insects will do to animals for 1000s of years.
This is mental illness on full display.

Is there no end to the evil, sick, demented depravity of Dr. Tony “I am Science” Fauci (AKA: the Lying Little Turd)?

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is funding an experiment at Kansas State University involving hundreds of ticks feasting on puppies injected with a mutant bacterium.

The experiment involves injecting beagle puppies with mutant bacteria and subsequently allowing “up to 250 ticks to feast on each of the puppies, sucking their blood for up to a week,” according to WCW.

Investigative journalist Leighton Woodhouse detailed the effects of the mutant strains of the bacteria on the dogs:

A 2020 paper based on the experiment’s findings reported that, for that funding cycle, the researchers bought 18 six month-old beagles from a commercial breeder. The researchers created mutant strains of the bacteria Ehrlichia chaffeensis in a laboratory and infected the beagles with them. The E chaffeensis bacteria can cause fever, respiratory distress, weight loss, bleeding disorders, neurological disturbances, anemia, bleeding, lameness and eye problems in dogs. After infecting them, the researchers allowed 200 ticks to feed on each of the beagles for a week, to see whether the ticks would take up the mutated versions of the bacteria.

There are few people I would wish hell on, but Fauci is one and sadly, the number is growing by the day.

Good propaganda for us. Get some of the PETA types to possibly rethink some things. Maybe.

At the risk of flames from the pro dog crowd here, I think any Mengele (sp?) comparisons made are hyperbolic. A dog is not a human. I think Fauxci needs to be frog marched as well, but let’s not be PETA ourselves, just use them. Finding out if ticks are vectors for a particular disease is ultimately helpful for animals and humans. They will suffer, true, but they are still animals. Devocalizing seems extreme and unwarranted, so get him framed as cruel, but equating the removal of vocal cords to the making of skin lamp shades is at best, a reach. Same tactics used by the anti life zealots to dehumanize a baby.

Flame away, the “My dog is smarter than your honor student” bumper sticker crowd.
